Still, a scrappy Rencountre is looking to trade. Good is confident early and throwing hard. Good with a low kick, then lands another right hand over his opponent’s strike. Left hands score for Dawodu when they break. They clinch again, and Dawodu is the one controlling it. Big punches being traded, but they’re just glancing blows. Arce switches off the fence, but Dawodu turns it quickly, as well, and they split. He again grabs a Thai plum and pushes the action to the fence. Kicks traded, and Dawodu lands a right hand. Arce firing off combinations, but he’s struggling to land clean. Arce battles well there, so Dawodu pulls away. Round 3 – Dawodu out quickly and looking to control in the clinch. MMA Junkie gives the round to Dawodu, 10-9. He fires one capoeira-style kick and gets back to his feet. Arce tries to threaten with upkicks in the final minute. Tense moments, but Dawodu defends well and is able to spin inside, taking top position. Dawodu turns to his knees to rise, but Arce switches quickly to his back. It works, and Dawodu pulls half-guard as he hits the deck. Arce looking for a change and steps in with a takedown. Arce is having some success, but Dawodu always seems ready to answer it. His jab works, and a straight right scores, as well. Dawodu again with the stepping front kick. Arce won’t stay there, and we break back to the center. Arce battles his way off the fence, but Dawodu turns it again. After a few exchanges, Dawodu moves into the clinch. He comes out swinging, and Dawodu ready to answer. Round 2 – Referee Todd Anderson wipes off some excess moisture on Dawodu’s chest, and we start again. MMA Junkie gives the first to Dawodu, 10-9. Thai clinch from Dawodu, and he lands a few knees inside before the bell. Arce ducks briefly for a leg and nearly pays dearly for it. Dawodu shakes it off and chops again at the legs. Arce moving well, but Dawodu is calmly walking him down. Dawodu answers with a two-punch combination. He misses a leaping knee but scores shortly after with a big left hand.
